For candidates

Thinking about a move? Start with a quiet conversation.

We work with construction project managers, cost consultants, site managers and engineers in the UK and the US, in confidence. Your CV or resume goes only where you say. Here is how we work, how we keep things confidential, and what to expect at each stage, whether you move with us or not.

  • Nobody hears that you are looking
  • Straight answers about firms and pay
  • One person, start to finish

How we work with you

Like a trusted colleague, not a salesperson.

We have done the job you do. So we can talk about the projects, the firms and the money without guessing.

We will not push you towards a move. Sometimes the right answer is to stay where you are. We will tell you if we think so.

When there is a role worth talking about, we tell you which firm it is, what the team is like and what the projects are. Then you decide.

  • Straight answers about firms and salaries.
  • Your CV goes only where you say.
  • One person, start to finish.

Confidentiality

Nobody hears that you are looking.

  • We never send your CV anywhere without your clear yes for that specific firm.
  • We never tell your employer, or anyone in your network, that you are talking to us.
  • We do not post your details on job boards or databases.
  • If we meet in person, we choose somewhere discreet.
  • You can stop at any point. No hard feelings.

What to expect

Each stage, in order.

  1. 01

    First conversation

A call or a coffee. We learn what you do, what you want next and what would make you move. No pressure to decide anything.

  2. 02

    The market

We tell you what is out there, what it pays and which firms fit. If nothing fits right now, we stay in touch until it does.

  3. 03

    The introduction

We agree which firms to approach. We brief you properly on each one before your CV goes anywhere.

  4. 04

    Interviews

We prepare you for each stage, including who you will meet and what they care about. We get you feedback the same day where we can.

  5. 05

    The offer

We agree the number you would accept before an offer is made, so the offer arrives ready to sign.

  6. 06

    Resignation and notice

We help you plan the conversation with your employer, and we handle the counter offer with you.

  7. 07

    Your first months

We check in after you start. If something is not right, tell us early.

Counter offers

Decide before it arrives.

Most good people get a counter offer when they resign. It usually answers the money question. It rarely answers the reasons you started looking in the first place.

So we talk about it early. Before you interview anywhere, we ask one simple question. If your current firm matched the offer, would you stay? If the answer is yes, we help you have that conversation now, without leaving.

If the answer is no, write down why you are moving. Read it again when the counter offer comes. It helps.

Before you move

Five things worth doing first.

  1. 01 Know your number. The salary that makes the move worth it, and the one you would walk away from.
  2. 02 Know your notice period, and any clauses that limit where you can go next.
  3. 03 Build a project list. Each scheme, your role, the value, and the stage you joined and left. Interviewers ask.
  4. 04 Line up two referees who saw your work closely. Ask them first.
  5. 05 Be honest about timing. If you cannot start for six months, say so. We can plan around it.

Common questions

What candidates ask us first.

Will anyone find out I am looking?
No. We never send your CV or resume anywhere without your clear yes for that specific firm, we never tell your employer or your network, and we do not post your details on job boards or databases.
Do I need a CV or resume before we talk?
No. A first conversation needs nothing but a call. If you want to send one now, use the upload page and we reply within one working day.
Can you help me move between the UK and the US?
We recruit in both markets. Whether a cross-border move is realistic depends on your discipline, your right to work and the role, and we will tell you plainly in the first conversation.
How should I handle a counter offer?
Decide before it arrives. Before you interview anywhere, ask whether you would stay if your current firm matched the offer. If yes, have that conversation now. If no, write down why you are moving and read it again when the counter offer comes.
What levels do you place?
From graduate and assistant roles to director and partner. Most of our work sits between project manager and director.
